Domains & DNS

Your domain, pointing at the right things. We keep it that way.

DNS is the address book that points your domain at your website and your email. We run it on our own nameservers, explain every record in plain English, and set up the common ones for you.

The DNS settings of a domain in the portal: each record grouped by what it does, like Website and Email, with a sentence explaining it

Who it's for

Made for the way small businesses work

Not sure what DNS is

You don't need to be

Tell us what should work: the website, email, a Google verification. We add the records and explain each one in a sentence.

Moving from another host

Nothing breaks

We copy your existing records first, check them, and only then ask you to change your nameservers at your registrar.

Technical and in a hurry

The full record editor

A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA and more, with DNSSEC signing and changes that go live in seconds.

Features

What you get

Every record explained

Records are grouped by what they do (website, email, verification) with a sentence saying what each one is for.

One-click presets

Connect a website, set up Kagen Mail, or add a Google or Microsoft verification without typing a record by hand.

Signed with DNSSEC

Your records are signed, so nobody can quietly redirect your visitors or your mail.

Checked after every change

The portal checks your domain from the outside and says when it's connected, or exactly what's still missing.

Two nameservers

ns1.kagen.cloud and ns2.kagen.cloud answer for your domain from separate machines.

Keep your registrar

Your domain stays registered where you bought it (GoDaddy, Namecheap and so on). You only change its nameservers.

The Domains page in the portal: one domain connecting, one connected, each showing its website, email and https status

Connected, or exactly what's missing

Each domain shows whether its website, email and certificate are working. While a domain is connecting, the portal says what it's waiting for, such as a nameserver change at your registrar, and emails you when it's done.

  • Step-by-step nameserver instructions for your registrar
  • An email the moment it's connected
  • Registrar and renewal date at a glance

Good to know

  • We don't sell domain names. Keep yours where it's registered and pay its renewal there.
  • Buying a new domain? We'll tell you where and help you set it up.

Questions

Do I have to move my domain to you?

No. Your domain stays registered where you bought it. You change its nameservers to ours, and we look after the records.

Will my email stop working when I change nameservers?

No. We copy your existing records before you change anything, and the portal checks them. Email and the website keep working through the switch.

What does DNSSEC do?

It signs your records, so a visitor's computer can tell they really came from us. It stops a class of attacks that redirect people to fake copies of your site.

How fast do changes take effect?

Our nameservers have a change within seconds. Some internet providers remember old answers for a while, usually minutes, sometimes up to a few hours.

Tell us what you have. We'll handle the move.

Call 817-422-8663 or send a request. A person answers, usually the same day.
