Acceptable Use Policy
The short version
- No illegal content, malware, spam, attacks or abuse of shared resources.
- Serious problems (malware, illegal content, attacks) may be suspended at once; otherwise we warn you first.
- Report abuse to support@kagen.cloud.
This summary helps you read the document; the full text below is what applies.
This policy applies to everything you host, send or run on Kagen Cloud and Kagen Mail, and to everyone in your account. It's part of our Terms of Service and of any Hosting & Maintenance Agreement you have with K-Jensen LLC.
1. What isn't allowed
You may not use the Services to:
- Host or share illegal content, including content that infringes copyright or trademarks, fraud, or any content that exploits minors.
- Distribute malware: viruses, spyware, phishing pages or any code meant to damage systems or gain unauthorized access.
- Send spam: unsolicited bulk email or messages, email to purchased or scraped lists, or mail that hides who sent it. Newsletters must go only to people who asked for them and must include a working unsubscribe link.
- Attack or probe other systems: denial-of-service attacks, port scans or vulnerability scans of systems you don't own, or attempts to get into our infrastructure, other customers' resources or anyone else's systems.
- Abuse shared resources: cryptocurrency mining, running open proxies or open mail relays, or using so much CPU, bandwidth or storage that it degrades the service for other customers beyond what your plan provides.
- Harass or threaten: content that is defamatory, harassing, or promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups.
- Get around our limits, such as the block on sending email directly from servers on port 25, account limits, or billing.
2. Email rules
- Send only from domains you control, and only to people who have a relationship with you or asked to hear from you.
- Keep bounce and complaint rates low. Email sending suppresses bounced and complaining addresses automatically; don't try to get around that.
- We may pause sending from an account whose mail is being reported as spam while we look into it.
3. What we do about it
- Serious problems, such as active malware, illegal content, phishing, or an attack coming from your resources, may be suspended immediately, without notice, to protect other customers and the internet.
- Other cases get a warning first and a reasonable time to fix them, at our reasonable discretion.
- Repeated or severe violations may lead to termination of the Services.
- We'll tell you what we suspended and why, and we keep the data of suspended resources unless the law requires otherwise.
We may cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires it.
4. Reporting abuse
To report spam, phishing, malware or any other abuse coming from our network, email support@kagen.cloud with the details (for spam, the full message with its headers). We look at every report.
